That’s right, we help the people who are helping people in Vancouver’s inner city 

Central City Foundation is a relationship-based funder. Our values are embedded in everything we do, and we encourage organizations to review our Truth, Justice & Reconciliation policies before reaching out to us. Rather than operating through fixed granting cycles and traditional application forms, we work alongside our partners and communities to co-create funding agreements that reflect shared goals and values.

Capacity constraints, leadership gaps and burnout are common themes we hear from across the non-profit sector. That’s why we believe philanthropy includes more than financial resources and transactional grants. Wherever possible, Central City Foundation seeks to bring the full range of its assets to support community partners, including knowledge sharing, social purpose real estate, relationship-building, convening power and the expertise and lived experience of our staff and Board members.

Grants are provided throughout the year and are currently focused on supporting women, Indigenous people, children and youth. In the meantime, if you believe your organization’s mission and values align with ours, we’d love to hear from you!
